The Scalextric 'Sport' slot car sets are a well thought out and engineered system designed for the home slot racing enthusiast.  The Scalextric Sport track material has been reformulated to be firmer and less abrasive giving the slot race cars a smoother, more realistic surface to race on.  This new material virtually eliminates the warping track surface sometimes evident with the "Classic" Scalextric track.  Less surface roughness provides greater traction for the slot car tires.  The Scalextric Sport track surface is almost as smooth as the surface of Carrera^® track.

Having a refined racing surface, the Scalextric 'Sport' track also has a push-lock connection which provides a positive track linkage ensuring superior electrical contact: imperative for efficient racing.  An added advantage of the Scalextric 'Sport' track connection is the assembly of a racing circuit takes approximately one third of the time compared with the Scalextric 'Classic' track system.   Scalextric 'Sport' sets and track extension packs feature Scalextric Sport track pieces.  Scalextric Sport track is available sepatately as well as a full range of Scalextric Sport track accessories.

The Scalextric Sport system offers the latest technology in slot racing and offers even greater realism, fun and simplicity.  The Sport concept applies to the engineering of both cars and track and is a departure from the traditional slot-cars in terms of quality, precision and action.  While the cars are very dynamic models, the track has taken a real leap forward with new overtaking bends, eight player racing and flying leaps just like World Rallying.

The elevated track crossover section comes as two 3/4 length track sections with pillars.   The assembly enables the enthusiast to build a more rigid fly-over section than fly-overs supported simply by pillars.  Multiple SPO8295 crossovers can be stacked on top of each other (see picture) to build crazy stunt or action tracks.  With the addition of two SPO8207 half straights this bridge can replace a SPO8210 flat crossover track section, so the Circuit X2 tracks can easily be transformed.

Scalextric Sport RMS PC Interactive Racing Software

The Scalextric "Sport" Interactive is a feature never before offered by any of the major scale racing manufacturers.  It is, without a doubt, the biggest step forward by a major slot manufacturer, to blend the real time 3D racing on a home racing circuit, with the power and graphics of a computer.  We like it a lot ...............   This device is an electronic accessory that connects to a PC computer * and provides all kinds of colorful and graphic abilities much like modern video games.  With this accessory you get the track connect piece, a computer interface cord, and the software CD with instructions - all for only $59.95.  This interface will work with all the "Sport" race sets and can even be adapted to the old Scalextric Classic race sets using a pair of "Sport" track adapters (SPO8222 above).  This PC Interactive device will appeal most to younger enthusiasts, those (not me) who have grown up with handheld and computer video games.  Note, you can use your Sport Interactive race set without plugging in the PC Interactive system, the race set will work fine without the computer connection.   The PC Interface allows all kinds of colorful race management, car selection, timing, scoring, and other functions to add a new dimension to slot track racing.   You can always add the RMS PC Interactive system by ordering SPO8143.  See below.
