The popular 25,000 RPM motors from Slot.it are drop in replacements for Scalextric, Fly, and Ninco cars.  These are hot motors, and easy to install.  Check the motor diagram carefully and note the differences between car brand, and whether the motor is inline or sidewinder.

1/32 slot racing engine by slot.it

• is a 25000RPM @ 12Volt (27500 RPM @ 13.2V) motor, which comes with black and red silicon leads with cable-end guide flag connectors, and pinion. Just plug it in!

Review this diagram carefully for variation in motor types.

The versions differ only by the pinion, i.e. you can take ANY V12 (V12/1b type onwards) and plug it into ANY of your favorite brands (for copyright reasons, we cannot call things by their commercial names).   Unless otherwise noted, they are directly drop-in compatible tune-up parts - no cutting, adjustment, or messing around.  The 'Spanish Inline' version comes with an 8 tooth pinion.  The 'British Inline' version is available now, and comes with the same 8 tooth pinion, mounted on the endbell side of the shaft.  The 'Spanish Sidewinder' version comes with the 11 tooth pinion as in the 'sidewinder' Spanish cars type (i.e. Porsche, Venturi, Ferrari 512 ...), and is available now.  To use the  in your Viper / Marcos / Panoz you must add your own transaxle but otherwise they will fit nicely.  Yes, you can use it in your 'Italian sidewinder' as well, but please use the pinion that comes with the original motor.  Some friends are using our 'sidewinder' pinions on that brand, but we do not think that it is advisable - however, the motor fits perfectly!

• is an high-spec engine, and, to keep it up to your expectations, we have plans to be able to provide you with spare parts (carbons and endbells), to keep performance to the top (we are dealing with the manufacturer on this, so we cannot guarantee it now)!
  Please note: all measurement done at 12V. These motor's performance is proportional to applied voltage, so 25000RPM@12V= 27500RPM@13.2V, and so on.

  • warning: this is as fast as a Mabuchi can motor for Euro cars can get. Do not overload it with magnets stronger than Fly magnets: Fly magnets are OK.

• Yes! They are here! Finally, specially tooled pinions that will match your standard 27 teeth crown.
• A bit of theory is needed here: the standard pinion/gear couple is a 'modulo 0.5mm' gear couple. Let modulo be M, Z the number of teeth, the dimension of a standard gear for given M and Z is D = (Z+2)*M

  i.e. for a standard 9 teeth pinion, 5.5 mm. Modern crowns, which are kept in place by the motor's axle, are made for this 5.5 dimension

• If you measure a 10 teeth pinion made by a popular Spanish brand, you will notice that in fact it is 5.5mm (as it must be to match the standard crown) in diameter instead of 6mm (as it normally is according to the formula above). Now, we took it one step further (and it was not easy): 8 and 11 pinions are now, for the first time, available on this principle.

• Get an 8 teeth for maximum torque and braking, twisty circuits. We think this is excellent with the V12 especially! Or, Get a 10 or 11 teeth pinion for maximum speed, trading off braking power. The choice is yours, this is all you must change to change your gear ratio now!
