Shipping information for Sport Craft - Mail Order North America

Sport Craft shipping rates - effective January 9, 2008

All parcels ship from Michigan, U.S.A.

UPS has again raised its shipping rates, this time effective January 1, 2008.  Therefore, it is necessary for our rates to increase effective January 9, 2008.  We do the best we can to hold shipping rates low; in fact, we never raised our UPS rates at all during 2007 despite the UPS increases imposed on us.  However, the 2008 rate increases make it necessary for us to cover our shipping costs.   We do not charge any handling fees, box charges, or any other extra charges.  The rates below reflect our best estimate of the costs you might expect to your UPS zone from our Mid-Michigan zip code of 48848.  Another thing to consider is that Postal Rates (United States Postal Service) for Priority Mail have also increased but very small parcels under two pounds (one or two 1/43 scale cars for instance) may be less expensive than UPS.  If your order is very small or light we may choose this option to save you money.  We will always try to use the least expensive option for our valued customers.

For Domestic delivery you may specify either UPS or USPS Priority Mail on our shopping cart system.  In most cases, we will choose the least expensive method for you.

Our sales people cannot usually give you an exact shipping charge.  They can only give you approximate shipping charges similar to those shown below.  Shipping costs depend on destination, service type, package weight, and package size, value of contents, area surcharges and fuel surcharges.   Large packages are subject to dimensional weight as defined by USPS and UPS (the larger of either actual weight or length × width × height divided by 194).  We take pride in our shipping department by using proper shipping materials and charging fair shipping rates.   We do not intend to make a profit on shipping.  We do not charge packaging and handling fees.

Please, be aware that choosing any UPS expedited services Next Day Air, Next Day Saver, Two Day Air, & Three Day Select (faster than normal ground), will cost more because of higher rates, & “dimensional weight”, as well as area surcharges & fuel surcharges.

USPS Priority Mail is usually the most economical for shipping very small parcels.  See table below for estimates of shipping cost by weight.

UPS is usually the most economical for shipping parcels of over one pound or more.  See table below for estimates of shipping cost by weight.

UPS does not ship to USPS Post Office boxes.

Shipping Cost for Backordered Items
If the buyer purchases an item that is marked BACKORDERED or PREORDERED on the shopping cart the buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping that item once it is restocked.  Conversely, if the buyer purchases something that appears in stock (add to cart) but is not in stock, Sport Craft will pay the shipping charges.

Large parcels over 12 pounds vary considerably depending on parcel size and weight.
-Four-Six regular 1/18 scale models by UPS (larger 1/18 or 1/16 scale trucks are more)
-Most Two Lane Race sets come in large boxes.  Most of these can ship via UPS to any US address for
$12.50 to $34.50 + insurance, varying by size, weight, and distance.

All UPS parcels are fully insured per UPS published rates.

Turntables

Turntables come in cases of six pieces.  Mirror surfaces and power converters will add weight and can increase shipping costs.

A case of six small turntables weighs about eight pounds.  17" × 10" × 10" - actual wt.

A case of six medium turntables weighs about 10 pounds. 21" × 12" × 10" -13 Lb. dim. wt.

A case of six large turntables weighs about 12 pounds.  25" × 14" × 10" -19 Lb. dim. wt.

US Postal Service (USPS) Priority Mail & Foreign Shipping Guidelines

Postal Rates (United States Postal Service) for Priority Mail have also increased but very small parcels under two pounds (one or two 1/43 scale cars for instance) may be less expensive than UPS.  If your order is very small or light we may choose this option to save you money.

Postal Service Domestic—

We ship via USPS Priority Mail for mailing decals and most small parts orders that will fit into a USPS Priority Mail box.

We ship via USPS Priority Mail to U.S. PO Boxes, and APO & FPO addresses.

We ship via USPS Priority Mail per your request.

When using USPS Priority Mail you will be billed actual cost, plus insurance, plus $0.65 delivery confirmation.  For example, a USPS Priority Flat Rate Envelope or a 1 Lb. USPS Priority Mail box including delivery confirmation is $5.45 + insurance (if valued over $20.00).

Within the US one regular packaged 1/43 car easily ships USPS Priority Mail $5.45 + insurance (if valued over $20.00)

Within the US one display turntable easily ships using USPS Priority Mail $5.45-$12.15

Foreign Orders including Canada and Mexico —We ship all foreign parcels via USPS Express Mail International by actual cost + insurance.  The only exceptions are very small, light weight inexpensive orders which we may be able to ship by USPS Priority International to a limited number of countries.  We use USPS Express International for parcels because it provides an electronic tracking method & $100 insurance is included.  Please do not ask us to reduce the value of contents of any order.  We cannot alter the paperwork to a lower value.

South African Orders —The United States Postal Service only allows us to send parcels via the following municipalities: Bloemfontein, Capetown, Durban, East London, Germiston, Johannesburg, Kimberly, Port Elizabeth, Pretoria, Randsburg (Postal Codes 2125 and 2194 within the delivery area for Johannesburg) & Sandton City (Postal Codes 2146 and 2199).  Please include the proper city to ship via.

Customs Duty, special fees, taxes and other charges may be imposed on you.   Please note, some countries reserve the right to impose customs duties, taxes or other fees on imported products.  Sport Craft has no control over this and cannot be held responsible for these charges.  Please note, Sport Craft does not choose or select any courier service or delivery company when we ship by USPS Express International or USPS Priority International.  Couriers are selected by each country’s Postal Service.
